Elnaz Parviz, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Communication

Elnaz (Ellie) brings a breadth of experience as a social media consultant and administrator, leadership coach, board member, and translator. She has taught courses in digital communication, behavioral research methods, leadership studies, business communication, public speaking, and political campaigns as a teaching assistant. Her research focuses on political communication and social media based on the assumptions of risk-return framework and network theories. She holds a B.A. in French-Persian Translation from the Science and Research University in Tehran, Iran; an M.A. in communication studies from Wichita State University; and a Ph.D. in communication studies from the University of Kansas. Her work has been published in Communication Teacher Journal, Basic Communication Course Annual, and Social Media + Society.
