The construction for Drury’s first library, Harwood Library, was completed in 1924. In 1991, it was razed to make way for the F.W. Olin Library, Drury’s current library. Recent improvements include Sunderland Lyceum, a space that promotes open dialogue.

When Smith Hall opened in 1967, it answered a rising demand for women’s housing on campus. More than five decades later, a generous gift from the Richard Grant Lydy Trust made a full renovation possible. Finished in 2024 with its modern updates, the building now carries a new name: Lydy Suites.

Dedicated in 1959 after Trustee Theodore Walker 1908, Walker Library was Drury’s second library and known to be the first modern building on campus. It was renamed C. Arch Bay Hall by the Board of Trustees in 1994 in recognition of gifts from the family, and it now houses the Offices of Admissions.

Wallace Hall turned 100 years old this year. The building was originally a women’s dormitory that also was the living quarters for the Dean of Women and a head resident.
