Hutchens HPER houses Drury's swimming pool, built in 1988. The athletic training offices are also located in the Hutchens HPER facility and serve Drury's 14 intercollegiate sports.

Hutchens HPER is connected to Weiser Gym with which it forms the Springfield campus athletics center.

The $3.1 million HPER center behind Weiser boasts the ten-lane, 25 yard Breech Pool with its state-of-the-art automatic timing system. This is the home of Drury's nationally-ranked swimming and diving team. HPER also houses racquetball courts and the Mabee Gymnasium.
