Sigma Tau Delta

About the Organization
The purposes of Sigma Tau Delta are:

(a) to confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature studies in undergraduate, graduate, and professional work,
(b) to promote interest in literature and the English language on local campuses and their surrounding communities, and
(c) to foster the discipline of English in all its aspects, including creative and critical writing.

Sigma Tau Delta asks students to take their academic work in English and Writing very seriously, both inside the classroom as a intellectuals engaged in the world outside of their students. In this sense, it cultivates imaginative faculties as well as ethical insight and critical thought. It asks students to integrate their studies into their larger intellectual and cultural life outside of the classroom.

Meetings
Sigma Tau Delta meets monthly on Wednesday in Pearson Hall 318, at a time scheduled among participants.
