About the Theme Year

The 2002-03 Convocation series' theme was Gender and Sexuality - a multi-faceted exploration of these essential issues. Given its place at the center of human existence, “Gender and Sexuality” was a natural choice as the theme for Drury University’s 2002-03 Convocation series. The series explored gender and sexuality from scientific, cultural, business and artistic points of view.

Convocation is a tradition that has driven the Drury University community to think critically, discuss openly, and learn unequivocally for more than 60 years. Since the beginning of the new millennium, each Convo series has maintained a particular theme and has drawn nation's leading scientists, authors, historians, sociologists, theologians and lecturers to the Drury campus.
