Music Faculty Accolades

January 25, 2017

Dr. Tina Claussen was selected to present her original composition "Pitter Pat" at the 2017 meeting of the International Jazz Composer's Symposium. Held only two other times since its inception in 2007, this highly competitive conference features the work of both emerging and professional jazz composers. Participants are selected via blind audition from a very talented international field.

Dr. Stephen Bomgardner, professor of music, will sing a recital at the College Music Society (CMS) national conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico in October, and will be accompanied by Dr. Carlyle Sharpe, professor of music. He also sang recitals at regional CMS conferences in Los Angeles, California and Portland, Oregon in March 2016, and sang the roles of Basilio and Curzio in Springfield Regional Opera's production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro in April 2016.
