About the Springfield-Drury Girls Choir

“Uniting the young women of Springfield in song since 2012”

The Springfield-Drury Girls Choir (SDGC) was founded in the fall of 2012 to unite the young women of Springfield in song, and strengthen the ties between Drury’s Department of Music and the community.  Currently there are two choirs within the organization, the Songbirds (2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades) under the direction of Molly Faulkner, the SDGC (5th through 8th grades) under the direction of Alicia Lyons. The choirs are open to any girl in grades 2-8 by audition. The choirs have performed for the Missouri Music Educators Association Convention, at the St. Louis Cardinals, with the Springfield Symphony, and at numerous other local engagements in addition to their annual concert series. The organization is currently under the executive direction of Drury’s Director of Music Education, Dr. James R. Davidson. In addition to employing some of the finest conductors and accompanists in the region, the SDGC provides internship opportunities for many of Drury's Music Education Students..  For more information, or to schedule an audition, please contact sdgc@drury.edu

  • Sing the first verse of "Amazing Grace."
