Additional Scholarships

  • The Springfield Area Legal Support Professionals is sponsoring a $400.00 scholarship to be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, leadership ability and need. The scholarship award may be granted to any qualified applicant, with special emphasis being given to those whose work is of a legal nature. Application deadline is March 2, 2010.   • The Missouri Section of American Water Works Association (MSAWWA) has established a scholarship fund for qualified students enrolled in an accredited college or university in the State of Missouri.
    Qualifying curriculum for scholarship applicants shall include courses related to civil or environmental engineering or environmental science with emphasis on career fields associated with water supply. Applications are due my March 24, 2010. for additional information and application please visit www.awwa-mo.org.
  • The Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Ozarks Chapter is pleased to make available again this year scholarships for students committed to entering the accounting profession. The deadline for receipt of scholarship applications is March 2, 2010. An application form and additional information about the AGA Ozarks Chapter may be found at www.ozarksaga.org .
  • The John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the U.S. Canadian or American citizenship is required along with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Criteria other than strictly academic ability and financial need are considered in the selection process. The 2010 deadline for mailing the application is May 1, 2010.   • The Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Greater Kansas City is offering educational scholarships to female college juniors, seniors and graduate students who are sorority members and residents of the greater Kansas City area, attending Kansas or Missouri schools.   • Abbot and Fenner Scholarship Program - Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with their scholarship program for the 4th year.   • Scholarships for Female Students from Developing Countries. The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund was established in 1981 to honor the late Margaret McNamara and her commitment to the wellbeing of women and children in developing countries. The purpose of the grant is to support the education of women from developing countries who are committed to improving the lives of women and children in their home countries. Applications can only be submitted by accessing the website at www.mmmf-grants.org and completing the online application form. Application deadline is February 18, 2010.
  • The Kansas City Chapter of International Facility Management Association is seeking to reward potential for excellence in facility management. A scholarship pool of $3000 has been approved by the Board, to be awarded to students in local area colleges and universities. The student must be a full time undergraduate or graduate student or a part-time graduate student registered in a Kansas or Missouri College or University enrolled in a curriculum relating to facility management. Those curriculums include, but are not limited to, the study of interior design, architecture, engineering, business operations, construction science and environmental design.

  • A consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.   • Springfield Contractors Association Scholarship – Will provide financial assistance to college students who will be a junior or senior and have an area or specialization related to the construction industry. Scholarship applications will be available in the Financial Aid Office as well as the Springfield Contractors Association office by calling 417-862-1313 or emailing kathysca@sbcglobal.net .

  • It is Army Emergency Relief’s (AER) objective to ensure all Army families, active, retired and survivor, are made aware of the scholarship opportunities available for the spouse and dependent children of Soldiers. Please visit www.aerhq.org for information, applications, and deadlines.
  • Army's Health Professions Scholarship Program - The Army offers one of the most generous and comprehensive scholarships in the health care field. It’s called the F. Edward Herbert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP, for short). If you qualify, you could earn a full-tuition scholarship, plus a monthly allowance through the Army’s HPSP.
    Scholarship Eligibility: Be a citizen of the United States; Meet eligibility criteria for appointment as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve; Maintain full-time student status during the entire length of the program.
    What does the Army pay for?

    Tuition: You select the school, obtain acceptance, and apply for the scholarship. If selected, 100% tuition is paid to any accredited professional school in the United States or Puerto Rico.
    Books/ Fees/ Reimbursable: The Army will pay for required books, rental of non-expendable equipment, and most academic fees.
    Monthly Stipend: A generous monthly stipend of $1,319.00 will be provided for ten and one-half months of each school year.
    Army Officer Pay: For the remaining six weeks of the school year, you will receive the full pay and allowances offered a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserve. After graduation and entrance on active duty, you’ll be promoted to Captain, which means more pay. Your salary will increase through the years with promotions, time in service, and annual cost of living increases. You’ll also receive a monthly non-taxable allowance for your food and housing.

Missouri Higher Education Academic Scholarship Program (Bright Flight) The Higher Education Academic Scholarship Program provides maximum scholarship awards of $2000 to eligible students. Drury does participate in this program. To be eligible, a student must: be a Missouri resident; attend full-time at a participating Missouri post-secondary institution; have a composite score on the ACT or SAT in the top three percent of all Missouri students taking those tests; or be a college student currently receiving Bright Flight. This is a renewable scholarship. Applications and information are available from high schools and student financial aid offices of participating Missouri post-secondary institutions or from the coordinating board. Deadline for application: July 15.
