Julie Coltharp

Associate Director of Online Education

Julie Goldman

Julie grew up on a farm near Purdy, Missouri. She then migrated south to Fayetteville to attend the University of Arkansas where she completed her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Marketing Management. She enjoyed the academic environment so much that she decided to work at the University of Arkansas full time. She has held accounting positions in various departments and was promoted to program coordinator for distance education, off-campus classes, and education abroad in the School of Continuing Education and Academic Outreach. This is where she became a life-long learner and grew passionate about helping adults achieve their academic goals. While at Continuing Education she completed her Masters of Education in Vocational Education and a Doctor of Education in Adult Education/Workforce Development through online, blended, and face-to-face classes. She understands first hand the challenges adult students can encounter when they do not attend classes on the main campus.

In March 2007, she became the first Director of the newly formed Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium (SECAC). In this position she developed new academic programs and laid the foundation for academic collaboration across the 12 member universities of the Southeastern Conference (SEC.)

After eighteen years of employment at the University of Arkansas, Missouri beckoned her to return home. She is now back in the Missouri Ozarks closer to her family, friends, and horses. Julie is excited to continue her career in higher education at Drury and looks forward to helping students achieve their academic goals.

Julie is a board member of the Association for Consortium Leadership. Her hobbies include fly fishing, photography, running, and rock collecting.
