Steve grew up in Los Angeles where he developed his entrepreneurial spirit while working in the restaurant industry. He managed restaurants both in Los Angeles and San Diego. His specialty is grilling seafood but also is not shy around steaks, chicken, chops and pasta. His cheesy garlic bread recipe is well known among family and friends. He enjoyed all aspects of restaurant work, but not the hours, often working 60 hours or more per week. To escape the long work weeks he returned to college as an adult where he earned a bachelor's degree from San Diego State in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in education. Later, he earned an MBA from University of Phoenix where he developed his passion for adult education and for e-learning.
He has spent nearly 15 years in adult education working as an administrator, manager and director. After moving to Springfield, MO in 2004, he stayed in education but jumped to Drury University. Drury's long history in adult education, commitment to online education, and reputation for academic excellence attracted him to the College of Continuing Professional Studies where he served as Operations Manager for 4 years. In 2008 he accepted his current position in online education. He has plans to pursue a Ph.D in Adult Educational Administration. His interests include cooking, sports, especially football and basketball, poker, reading, the outdoors and teaching.
