CCPS Commencement

Drury University is pleased to announce its Spring Commencement will be held at noon on May 18, 2013 in O’Reilly Family Event Center on Drury's Springfield Campus.

Drury holds commencement ceremonies in May and December of each academic year. In May, there are two ceremonies; one for the College of Continuing Professional Studies and one for the Day College. In December there is one ceremony that combines the prospective graduates of CCPS and the Day College. All tuition and fees must be paid prior to receiving a diploma.

General Information

Is seating available for a disabled guest?
O’Reilly Family Event Center is wheelchair accessible. If you or one of your guests will require the services of an interpreter for the hearing impaired, please contact the registrar's office at (417) 873-7872 or (800) 922-2274 ext. 7872 by April 24, 2013.

Will there be a photographer on the day of the diploma presentation?
Yes, there will be a professional photographer from Kabance Photo Services on hand for the occasion. The photographer will hand each student a card directing them to the Drury University page on their website to view and order photographs. Kabance Photo Services can be contacted at (314) 721-7733.

Caps and Gowns

How do I receive my cap and gown?
Caps and gowns will be available for pickup from the business office Wednesday through Saturday the week of the commencement ceremony. Hours are provided here.

On which side should I wear my tassel?
Your tassel should be worn on the right, and should not be moved after the ceremony.

Do I need to pay for my cap and gown?
Undergraduates do not need to pay for caps and gowns. The university keeps gowns of all sizes on hand, and will provide you with the correct gown size based on your height. As part of the university's philosophy of upholding a green standard, caps and gowns must be turned in immediately after the ceremony or the graduate may incur a fee for their cost.
Graduate students pay a graduation fee of $68, regardless of participation in commencement.

Tickets

There are no tickets required for the Winter Commencement for either undergraduate or graduate students.

How do I order graduation announcements?
If you would like to purchase personalized graduation invitations, you may do so online through the Josten’s website. Blank announcements that can be personalized are also available for purchase in the Drury University Bookstore.
