The E1 program is designed for future entrepreneurs who want to turn a good idea into a successful start-up. This hands-on series includes four sessions surrounding two tracks, depending on your needs.
This track covers the steps involved in researching the feasibility of your business proposition or idea. In addition to analyzing your resources and needs, you will learn to conduct scans of your competition as well as the business environment in which you operate. Specific topics include testing for market, technical, management, and economic feasibility.
Business model development and presentation:
This track focuses on creating an effective business plan and presentation for seeking funding for your new venture. This track is more appropriate for people with a developed idea and want expert advice on determining that the various sections of their business model are complete. Additionally, an effective presentation for prospective lenders or investors will be developed, as well as strategies to handle Q&A and strategies for making the best case for your proposal.

Steve Nurnberg, Entrepreneur in Residence
Steve is a management executive with 30+ years’ experience leading successful start-up and turnaround companies. His previous experience includes several department head positions with Verizon Wireless, Chief Operations Officer of Hudson Valley Data Net, Executive Vice President of Operations for Americom, Inc., and President of Superconducting Core Technologies. Steve earned his degree in business administration from Drury University. He is currently a member of the Breech School of Business Advisory Board and Executive-in-Residence with the Edward Jones Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Drury, a current member of the Developmental Center of the Ozarks Board and President Elect of the Springfield Public Schools Foundation Board. Steve owns and operates Bevinco of Southwest Missouri with his son. He is currently a Business Broker with the Kingsley Group, a licensed Real Estate Agent with the Missouri Real Estate Commission and a member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA).
