The driving force behind SIFE is, without doubt, the faculty advisors, known formally as Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellows. The Sam Walton Free Enterprise Fellowship was created in 1985 by the Wal-Mart Foundation and is named for the founder of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. More than 300 Walton Fellows train and motivate over 30,000 SIFE team members annually.
Drury SIFE's Sam Walton Fellows provide vision, organization, and support for projects. More importantly, they often develop close bonds with students -- as a coach, mentor, and a career opportunity advisor.
"One of the most important aspects of my involvement with Students in Free Enterprise has been the opportunity to watch and participate in the maturation process of students. There is something inherently rewarding about watching a student develop into a young business leader. As I travel the country, I relish the chance to have dinner with a SIFE alum and rediscover how he or she is changing the world," said Drury Sam Walton Fellow Dr. Robert Wyatt.
Dr. Wyatt has been a member of the Drury community since 1996 and serves as an Associate Professor of Accounting, Sam Walton Fellow of Free Enterprise, and Director of the Breech School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, and Certified Internal Auditor. Wyatt serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement, and has received multiple awards for his work in free enterprise organizations.
