About this Club
The International Affairs Council is a relatively new group on Drury's Campus. We plan to hold bimonthly meetings where we discuss world issues and news reports, attend the United Nations Association of Springfield meetings, work with the World Affairs Council at MSU to host high school tournaments, and act as an extracurricular version of Model UN (where we will possibly take a trip to Chicago or New York). We hope to educate Drury students and the Springfield community about the varied and complex world issues that face our generation. Our extracurricular environment facilitates a stage where knowledge and ideas can be exchanged free of the constraints of a structured classroom. It is crucial that we understand other cultures, political systems, and concerns throughout the global community in order to maintain stable international relations. This group allows students to meet with like-minded peers to discuss current international events.
