Events & Activities

Student Organization Events & Activities
Drury University supports and encourages students to get involved in student organizations through attending events & activities of student organizations.  Through these student organization events & activities, Drury supports and encourages a wide variety of organized out-of-class activities and urges students to get involved, become leaders, and make a difference in their community. Your student organization has a variety of event & activity resources available, including:

Coordinating Events & Activities
Hosting events and activities is a good way to increase awareness of your organization. Event and activities should be appropriate for the resources and members that are available to be involved and, if possible, on the Drury campus. Event and activities should not conflict with similar student organization Event or activities that may split your audience.

Signing Contracts
The programs and activities of student groups can be greatly enhanced by the support of off-campus vendors.  At times, the collaboration of the student organization and off-campus vendors requires a contract to be signed regarding goods or services provided, price, and/or dates for performance or delivery.

Event Safety
Student Organizations plan many events during the year.  All events require a coordinator and event monitors to ensure the success of the event. Due to the nature of some events, additional monitors and event security may be recommended or required to continue a safe environment for all event attendees.

Film & Movie Showing Guidelines
Drury University student organizations periodically hold events that are based around showing films on campus.

The showing of commercial films at Drury University is subject to the following guidelines:
·      Advertising must be restricted to the Drury community.
·      The student organization will ordinarily be responsible for the screening of films and for financial arrangements.

Photography, Filming, and Recording Guidelines

The media usage guidelines are designed to protect the privacy of students, faculty, and staff while still allowing free expression.  Students should be able to work in laboratories without probing cameras and move about residential facilities (their homes) and classroom buildings without concerns about being surprised by or "watched" by cameras.
