Cultural: Cultural Groups are organizations whose purpose is to promote the culture of other nations and/or ethnic groups. Group members are not required to be from any specific country or ethnic background to participate.

Departmental: Departmental Groups are organizations related to a specific major or university department. These groups continue to promote a learning environment outside of the classroom. Although many members will be associated with the major or department relating to the organization, often it is not a requirement for membership.

Greek: Greek Organizations (Fraternities and Sororities) are student organizations whose primary purpose is the personal development of their members. They promote intimate relationship bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, and members typically refer to fellow members as "brothers" or "sisters." Traditionally, most fraternities and sororities are designated by Greek letters; hence, the organizations their members are often referred to as "Greek organizations" "the Greek community," or simply "Greeks."

Honorary: Membership in honorary societies is usually by invitation only. Specific selection criteria will vary among the different societies, but generally applicants must be upper-class students with a 3.0 to 3.5 minimum overall grade point average. It is possible to be invited to join more than one honor society, in which case you hold double honor.  Official Honorary-based Student Organizations are considered an Official Honor of Drury University.

Media: Media groups are organizations that publish or produce any type of media such as newspapers, magazines, websites or TV broadcasts. These groups work towards promoting knowledge, consistent communication and recent news information throughout the campus.

Political: Political organizations further the interest of a particular political group or issue. These groups range from candidate and party groups to issue-based support groups.

Service: Service groups are organizations whose purposes are to serve the campus and community through volunteer work. These groups help with construction tasks, clean-up projects, and donation and resource collection. Many of these volunteers also spend time in area schools and community establishments helping children and families.
