M.Ed. with Emphasis in Gifted Education

The Master in Education with Emphasis in Gifted Education program is designed as an endorsement program for persons who already have Missouri Teacher Certification. The Gifted Education program includes a core of 6 required professional education courses and 6 required emphasis courses related to gifted education.

Gifted education is a broad term for special practices, procedures and theories used in the education of children in K-12 education who have been identified as gifted or talented. Youths are usually identified as gifted by placing highly on certain standardized tests. The program provides both the theoretical background and practical, hands-on experience necessary to excel in working with gifted youth K-12.
