Drury’s Earth Day celebration moves inside

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., April 22, 2010 —Due to the rain, Drury’s Earth Day celebration is moving inside. The picnic lunch is canceled. The normal Commons lunch will be available.

As scheduled, Drury graduate and Indiana professor of law, Eric Dannenmaier will present “Environmental Change and the Emerging Global Citizen” at 11 a.m. in Stone Chapel.

Immediately following Dannenmaier’s talk, Drury will celebrate Earth Day with activities in the Findlay Student Center Ballroom. This year’s theme is “Reuse This!” The following activities will be available from noon-1:30 p.m. in the ballroom:

  • Live music from Lemon Drop Studios. (Commons)
  • Paint your own pot and plant a flower or herb.
  • Decorate a notebook or folder with the Reuse This! logo.
  • Free-style crafting with recycled materials.
  • Learn how to repurpose an old t-shirt into a shopping bag or yoga pants.
  • Enjoy coffee from The Coffee Ethic.
  • Fresh cinnamon rolls from the Sweet Place.
  • Create your own friendship pouch.
