SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Apr. 13, 2010 — The Springfield-Drury Civic Orchestra (SDCO) will perform with the Springfield Ballet this weekend. The SDCO will provide accompaniment for the Ballet’s performances on Saturday, Apr. 17, at 7 pm and Sunday, Apr. 18, at 2 pm in the Landers Theatre located on Walnut Street in downtown Springfield. The weekend shows are called “Peter and the Wolf and Other Stories.”
The 90 member Springfield-Drury Civic Orchestra is made up of students, professional performers, educators, and dedicated enthusiasts. SDCO plays three major performances each year, and the weekend performances mark the beginning of a new partnership with the Springfield Ballet.
“The Ballet is a wonderful asset to our regional arts scene, and I’m thrilled our organizations will be working together to bring new productions to the Springfield Community,” said Dr. Christopher Koch, Music Director and Conductor of the SDCO.
