SPRINGFIELD, Mo., April 12, 2010 — Drury Opera will perform scenes from three of Mozart’s most famous works on Friday, April 16, at 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Clara Thompson Hall. The performances are free and open to the public.
The performances will feature scenes from The Magic Flute, The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni. These scenes are wonderfully comic: a man whose mouth is padlocked shut for lying, wives outsmarting their husbands and a handsome stranger trying to seduce a woman on her wedding day. The opera pieces contain some of Mozart's most beautiful and memorable music.
The Drury Chamber Orchestra will provide the orchestral accompaniment. For more information contact Stephen Bomgardner in the Drury Department of Music at (417) 873-7388 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
