SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Dec. 21, 2009 — Financial Aid Director Annette Avery has been named Drury University’s Distinguished Staff Member of the Year for 2009. The Distinguished Staff Award recognizes a staff member who:

  • Enhances the quality of work-life.
  • Provides outstanding and ongoing excellence in services.
  • Develops creative solutions that result in more effective and efficient operations.

Avery has been a fixture at Drury University since 1977, serving as an advisor in the continuing education department. When she became director of financial aid in 1981, the office had been without a director for about three months.
