Dr. Ruth Monroe
Department of Theatre
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Sept. 28, 2009 — The Drury University Department of Theatre will present “Hedda Gabler” by Henrik Ibsen Oct. 7-10. Directed by Dr. Ruth Monroe, the play opens on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8:00 p.m. in the Studio Theatre inside Springfield Hall on the Drury campus.
As relevant and riveting today as when it shocked the world in 1891, “Hedda Gabler” is a remarkably modern and complex heroine whose fear of scandal traps her in a suffocating marriage.
The production will run October 7-9 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 10 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. All performances will be in the Studio Theatre.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors and $5 for students. Season tickets are available for the 2009-2010 season at a savings of 50 percent off individual ticket prices. For ticket information and reservations, contact the Theatre Box Office at 873-7255 Monday through Friday from 1-5 p.m.
