SPRINGFIELD , Mo. , April 28, 2009 — The Drury University Music Department will present the annual Spring Choral Concert on Monday, May 4 in Stone Chapel. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The Concert Choir, directed by Drury faculty member Duane Harris, will begin the program with a selection of spirituals. The concert will also feature the Drury Chamber Choir conducted by graduating Drury senior Zachary Slaight, performing works by Jan Sandström, Michael Horvit and Eleanor Daley. The remainder of the concert will feature the Drury Singers, conducted by Dr. Allin Sorenson. The Drury Singers will perform works of Mendelssohn, Palestrina, Purcell and many others.
This concert is in preparation for the Drury Singers tour of Italy this summer.
