SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Feb. 20, 2009 — Drury University junior Amanda J. Woods is the first Drury student to earn a structured internship with the Missouri House of Representatives.

Woods, a 2001 graduate of Springfield's Parkview High School, is working with Greene County representative Sara Lampe in Jefferson City this semester. Her internship earns her six hours of credit in Drury's College of Graduate and Continuing Studies.

While there, Woods gets to experience being on the House floor in the side gallery watching the debates, working with constituents, conducting research for bills and seeing how bills go from comprehension to completion.

Woods is studying communications and pre-law.
