FALL 2008 Workshops & Deadlines

Thursday, Sept. 25

Junior Workshop
Time: 5 p.m.
Place: Pearsons 316

Junior Honors students interested in completing an Honors Senior Colloquium & Research project next year are encouraged to attend this workshop, which will describe the process and requirements for a successful project, and will also offer advice on planning for the yearlong experience.

Graduate and Professional School Workshop
Time: 5 p.m.
Place: Hoblitt Room, Panhellenic Building

Faculty from a variety of disciplines will discuss how to create a strong application to graduate school. Find out what to expect before and after you’ve been accepted.

Junior Workshop
Time: TBA
Place: Pearsons 316

Junior Honors students planning to participate in the Honors Senior Colloquium & Research project will learn what is expected of a thesis proposal, which will be due in early April. They will also learn how to go about selecting a project committee. This workshop is required for all students signing up for Honors 401.

FALL 2008 Events & Festivities


Tuesday, Oct. 14

Parsons Dance at Juanita K. Hammons
Time: 8 p.m.

The Honors Program will sponsor a trip to Juanita K. Hammons to see New York-based modern dance company Parsons Dance. “This internationally renowned dance company, under the artistic direction of choreographer David Parsons, creates and performs contemporary American works of extraordinary artistry. The company has collaborated with many other leading artists and musicians, including Julie Taymor, Annie Leibovitz, Donna Karan and Dave Matthews.”

Make-Your-Own-Cookies Christmas Party

Place: Fuller’s House (directions to be provided)

Celebrate the end of the semester and the beginning of the holiday season at Professor Fuller’s house. Cookies and refreshments provided.

Death By Chocolate Freshmen Welcome
Time: 7 p.m.

First-year students accepted into the Honors Program will have a chance to meet sophomore, junior, and senior Honors students at an event that will feature chocolate—and lots of it.

Tuesday, March 3

To Kill a Mockingbird at Juanita K. Hammons
Time: 7:30 p.m.

The Honors Program will sponsor its second outing to Juanita K. Hammons, this time to see the Montana Repertory Theatre’s staging of an American classic. Sign up early. For more information on the performance, visit www.montanarep.org.
