Applying for Campus Housing: Freshmen

Freshmen students may apply to live in our co-ed residence halls, Smith and Wallace, or to live in one of our living-learning communities. Students who choose not to live in a living-learning community, should fill out a housing contract and indicate your hall preferences and meal plan. Students who wish to apply for a living-learning community need to apply for the LLC via a separate process, in addition to completing a housing contract.

Mail your New Student Housing Contract and a $200 deposit to Drury Office of Admission, 900 N. Benton Ave., Springfield, MO 65802. $100 of the deposit is a tuition deposit, and $100 is your housing deposit. Students who submit their contract and payment by May 1st will receive a housing assignment via their Drury e-mail the first week of June. Students who submit contracts and payments past May 1st will be assigned continuously throughout the summer. Assignments will be sent to the student’s Drury e-mail account. If you do not receive your housing assignment at least one week prior to Move-In Day, please contact the Housing Office.

All full-time day students are required to live on campus unless married, have a child or are living at home with parent(s)/legal guardian(s). Even if you meet these requirements, you must complete a Housing Exemption form to apply to move off campus. Mail the exemption form and a $100 tuition deposit to Drury Office of Admission, 900 N. Benton Ave., Springfield, MO 65802. Exemption approvals, denials and/or requests for more information will be sent to the student’s Drury e-mail account. Students who do not receive permission to exempt from the Housing Policy via their Drury e-mail are expected to complete a housing contract and live on campus.
