Drury University Apartment-style Housing

Drury’s apartment-style housing combines the ultimate in privacy with community living in Springfield’s Midtown historic area. Apartments and houses offer students an independent living environment with all the services, conveniences and security of residence hall living. All units are air-conditioned and within walking distance of the academic buildings. Placement in apartment-style living is based on both academic credit hours earned and seniority, except Summit Park, which requires a special application process, and Manley Hall, which houses graduate students, families and non-traditional students. It is typical for students with limited credit hours to live in the residence halls for the first two years at Drury.

College Park
Built in the late 1990s, College Park (virtual tour) is one of the most advanced student living environments on any American university campus. It features fully-furnished 4-bedroom apartments, 3-bedroom townhouses, 1-person studios and large 4-bedroom houses. All units have private bedrooms and two bathrooms (single units have one bath), a living area and kitchen. Kitchens feature a refrigerator, microwave, oven, stove and garbage disposal. Living areas have a couch, chair, TV stand, coffee table, two end tables, a lamp and two barstools (if the apartment has a breakfast bar). Units without a breakfast bar feature a dining table and two chairs. Bedrooms are furnished with a twin bed, nightstand, desk, chair and chest of drawers. Bedroom size and shape varies by layout. Students have a private closet or armoire in their bedroom, and the units boast at least one community closet. Students with one or more years of college experience may apply for College Park housing. Placement in College Park is for undergraduate students and is based on academic credit hours earned and seniority. College Park has several ADA accessible units.

Jefferson Park
Jefferson Park (virtual tour) offers 50-week housing to Drury’s undergraduate students. Every unit has either a balcony or patio area. The living and dining areas feature a couch, chair, TV stand, coffee table, two end tables, dining table and two dining chairs. Kitchens boast a refrigerator, microwave, oven, stove, dishwasher and garbage disposal. Students have a private bedroom and closet with a twin bed, nightstand, desk, chair and chest of drawers. A majority of the units are 2-bedroom, 2-bath and feature a master bedroom with attached bathroom, and a smaller second bedroom with a bathroom with hall access. There are a limited number of 1-bedroom and 3-bedroom units. Bedroom size varies by layout, but master bedrooms are approximately 14’ x 11’ and other bedrooms are 13’ x 10’. Placement in Jefferson Park is based on completed academic credit hours and seniority.

Midtown properties
The university has procured several homes (available homes) adjacent to the campus for our undergrads. The homes have been renovated and house three to four students each. Most of the homes boast a front porch and all have a washer and dryer. Living areas feature a couch, chair, TV stand, coffee table, two end tables, a lamp, dining table and four dining chairs. Kitchens have a refrigerator, oven, stove and microwave. Bedrooms have a twin bed, nightstand, desk, chair, chest of drawers, and a closet or armoire. Due to the variation in houses, there is not typical bedroom size or shape. Each Midtown house has two full bathrooms. Placement in Midtown housing is based on completed academic credit hours and seniority.

Summit Park Leadership Community
The Summit Park Leadership Community (virtual tour) engages Drury University students in a living-learning environment that focuses on the principles of leadership while incorporating the value of community service. Students coordinate with a local agency to volunteer a minimum of fifteen hours each semester. Students reside in the new two-story houses on the north edge of the Drury campus. Each floor houses a four-bedroom apartment, with a living area, two bathrooms, washer and dryer and fully-equipped kitchen boasting a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, garbage disposal and microwave. Living areas have a couch, chair, TV stand, coffee table, two end tables, a lamp, breakfast bar and two stools. Bedrooms have a twin bed, nightstand, desk, chair, chest of drawers, and a closet. Bedrooms are 10’x9’ or larger. Students are admitted to Summit Park through a special application process.

Manley Hall
Manley Hall (virtual tour) is primarily reserved for graduate students, non-traditional students and students with families. Graduate Assistants are housed in 2-bedroom units with other Graduate Assistants. Married couples/domestic partners are assigned to 1-bedroom units; students with children are eligible for 2-bedroom units. If two full-time Drury students live in a one-bedroom Manley apartment due to marriage/domestic partnership, then one student would pay full price, the other the spouse/child fee. Both would be charged for a meal plan. On rare occasions, married couples may require/request a two bedroom apartment. Contact the Housing Office for this price. Siblings, cousins, etc. are not allowed to live in Manley with students unless both individuals are enrolled in class at Drury University. If siblings, cousins, etc. are both enrolled in classes, the pair would be assigned a 2-bedroom unit and both must pay full price for housing and a meal plan. Each Manley unit has one bathroom, a living/dining area and kitchen. Kitchens have a refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave and garbage disposal. Some units have dishwashers. Living rooms feature a couch, chair, TV stand, coffee table, two end tables and a lamp. 2nd and 3rd floor units have a balcony off the living room. Bedrooms have a twin bed, nightstand, desk, chair, chest of drawers and a closet. 2-bedroom units have rooms that are approximately 14’ x 11’ and 9’8” x 12’. 1-bedroom units have a bedroom that is approximately 13’5” x 11’ 4”. In addition to the free parking behind Manley, limited covered parking is available for additional cost through the Housing Office.
