This program provides students a unique opportunity to combine a study of Italian culture, art/architecture, particularly the vast collections of the 13th and 14th century Tuscan Christian art, with the diverse cultural treasures of Italy. Florence will provide the background for this educational experience. Students will be citizens of Florence, since this city will be their primary residence for four weeks. They will experience the city as a member of its populace, and they will also explore the vast history, music, fashion and cuisine offered by the area. These experiences will definitely inspire students to examine their own traditions and conventions as they garner a broader understanding of what is truly meant by the label, “global citizen.”
