Resa Willis has been teaching at Drury University since 1980. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Missouri State University, M.A. from the University of Arkansas, and Ph.D. from the University of Tulsa, writing a dissertation on Mark Twain. She has taught a wide variety of courses including composition, literature, and linguistics. She has published extensively on Mark Twain, and her book, Mark and Livy: The Love Story of Mark Twain and the Woman Who Almost Tamed Him (Atheneum, 1992) was nominated for the PEN Award for biography. She is the author of a novel, short stories, poetry, nonfiction articles and, most recently, FDR and Lucy: Lovers and Friends, a book exploring FDR's relationship with Lucy Rutherfurd and its effect on his marriage to Eleanor Roosevelt.
