SPRINGFIELD, Mo., March 29, 2005 — Whether you love the tuneful melodies of the classic Broadway musicals or the beat of the contemporary sounds of The Great White Way, there’s a song for you in the next Drury theatre production. Join Drury Theatre for an evening of music and dance from the Broadway stage performed by the new musical revue troupe, The Whatever Players of Drury Lane.
Drury University Theatre Department’s production of Broadway on Drury Lane, a Musical Revue, opens at 8 p.m. on April 7, in the Studio Theatre in Springfield Hall.
While you may not remember the original production of Me and My Girl in 1937, you might remember “The Lambeth Walk” from the Tony-award-winning revival in 1986. Or, if you’re waiting for a chance to see Wicked or Hairspray we can give you a glimpse of these current hits as well as a lot of memories in between. Did you see Big River or A Chorus Line? Do you remember the charm of Dames at Sea or 110 in the Shade? What about the power of Les Miserables or Rent?
Broadway on Drury Lane will run April 7–9 with performances at 8 p.m. and April 10 with a performance at 2 p.m. Ticket Prices are $9 for general reserved admission, $2 for Drury students $7 for other students, and $4 for seniors. For ticket information and reservations, contact the Theatre Box Office at (417) 873-7255, from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
