Allin Sorenson is the Chair of the Department of Music and has been the Director of Choral Activities at Drury University since 1988. He holds bachelor and master degrees in Music Education from Truman State University and a doctorate in Voice Performance from the University of Minnesota, where he participated in developing curriculum for undergraduate class voice and vocal pedagogy courses. Sorenson has appeared as tenor soloist with the Springfield Symphony and Mid-America Singers and as a recitalist throughout Missouri and the upper Midwest. In May of 1999 he made his Carnegie Hall debut conducting the Fauré Requiem with the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Sorenson is known throughout the region as an expert in vocal pedagogy and is an active voice teacher, choral clinician, adjudicator and church musician.
