Student Union Board: Who We Are

The Drury Student Union Board is a fast-paced, student-centered organization that is always offering new and exciting events and activities to Drury students. We plan and implement fun events for everyone to enjoy for FREE or at a reduced cost. Our funding comes from student activity fees allocated to SUB by the Student Government Association.

The Board is made up of an executive council and five committees, each with their own respective functions:

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL:
Each committee has one member who serves as the head of that committee. These head members, along with the president and business manager, make up the executive council. He/she is responsible for delegating tasks, ensuring task assignment completion, meeting with the heads of other committees, and being in the know about everything related to that committee. This is a serious leadership position, which requires a lot of work.

COMMUNICATION:
Responsible for approving communication/promotional items, acting as a liaison with Marketing & Communications, create, administer and evaluate surveys, outside student group representation, initiative development and fostering new ideas, representing SUB at Admission/Alumni events, and maintaining all social media and the SUB website.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:
Responsible for creating and administering all member training/retreat events, providing resources to all members, scheduling Street Cleaning three times a year, recruiting new members, updating operation manuals, creating and maintain/track accountability program, and creating 360° evaluation program.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
Responsible for Coordinating with appropriate departments (i.e. Athletics, Alumni, etc.) to plan and execute campus events, planning and executing Homecoming (weekly events, dance, and court), planning and executing Orientation events (welcome bags, firework day, and novelties), (based on funding and interest) planning and executing a Fall Fest/Spring Fling weeks, and creating and supporting yearly event-based brands.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE:
Responsible for creating, implementing and supporting the After Dark program and brand (including a calendar of weekly events), coordinating with other student groups to fill each slot, providing and coordinating special "Free" nights on weeks other student organizations have an event.

PRODUCTION:
Responsible for maintaining a crew to set up and tear down sound and lighting equipment, managing resource room and resource requests, keeping room organized (assign committees to help), maintaining all resources/equipment, developing plans for future equipment, and entertaining/hosting Artists at events.
