Will a business office hold prevent me from registering for my courses?
Yes. A student cannot register for courses until all overdue balances have been paid. The student must go to the Business Office in Burnham Hall, Room 100 to pay the balance before registering.
I'm already registered but am unable to attend classes this semester. What now?
I am planning on taking a course at another university next semester. What do I need to do?
Undergraduate day school students who wish to take courses at another institution should fill out a Request for Transfer of Credit Form and return it to the Records & Registration Office with all required signatures. The signatures required include that of the student's academic advisor as well as that of the Drury department chair who oversees the department into which each transfer class would fall if it were offered at Drury.
I have coursework from another university which I need to have put on my record at Drury. What do I need to do?
Every page in the Online Advising Module has a help screen to aid in its use. When using the advising module, if you are not clear on the meaning of certain terms, simply click on Help in the upper left hand corner. Contact the Records & Registration Office with any further questions concerning the advising module.
My department chair has approved a substitution or waiver for a requirement. How can I get that substitution or waiver to show up correctly?
In order to change requirements of an aim, either through substitution or waiver, the Records & Registration Office must receive written notification from the chair of the department overseeing that requirement.
Whom do I contact to change my advisor?
Contact the Office of Academic Planning to officially change advisors. Information changed in the advising office is automatically updated in the online advising module.
Some courses are listed with a course number beginning with 'CL' or 'V', instead of the department code. Why?
'CL' in a course's requirement code means that the same course is offered under more than one department heading. A requirement code starting with 'V' means that the course is a variable title course.
What do the status codes stand for?
M: The requirement has been met.
I A: The course is currently in progress, but no grade has been assigned.
N: The course is not required.
O: An override has been done. Overrides are applied when either a part or all of a requirement has been waived.
R: The requirement, course, or group must be met in order to graduate.
S: A substitution has been done. Substitutions are applied when a different course has been approved to replace the required course.
Why do my majors and minors have a year associated with them?
Requirements in all majors can change from year to year. All changes are reflected in the university catalog from that year. The year associated with a student's major reflects the catalog requirements from the year the student entered Drury.
What is a free elective?
Any course that does not meet a requirement in any assigned aim falls into the "Free Elective" category. This category also includes any dropped or failed courses.
Transfer Coursework:
How can I tell which of my courses are transfer courses?
All transfer courses in a student's course history will be listed with a grade of 'T'. Usually the course title and requirement code differs from that of the class at Drury, if any Drury equivalent exists.
I thought my transfer courses were approved to meet certain requirements. What do I do if they don't show up that way?
The online advising module is set up to accommodate Drury courses, as well as transfer courses having Drury equivalents. Occasionally, a transfer course will fall into the wrong aim category. A student who believes that this has occurred should contact Records & Registration Office.
What if my transfer courses aren't on my record at all?
There are many explanations to why a student's transfer coursework isn't listed on his or her record.
Transfer coursework having a grade below 'C' is not accepted by Drury.
Transfer courses are removed from a student's record if that student took an equivalent course at Drury.
All transfer credit taken after a student began coursework at Drury must be approved, with official transcripts on file, before the credit will be recorded.
What does the grade 'T' mean?
All transfer courses are entered with a grade of 'T', signifying that the course was transferred to Drury. Transfer courses have no effect on a student's GPA at Drury.
