At Home in Your New Home

First-year students at Drury can live on campus or commute from home. Residence halls for first-year students are Smith (women), Turner (men) and Wallace (women and men). Rooms in Smith and Wallace are arranged in suites, each pair of students sharing a bathroom. Turner Hall residents share several large bathrooms with showers on each floor. All rooms have a desk, chair, dresser, bed and closet space for each person and a combination microwave/refrigerator. Students supply their own bed and bath linens. Each building has laundry facilities.

Each hall has a distinctive character. Smith features plenty of storage space and spacious bathrooms. Wallace reflects the grandeur of the past with a fireplace in the parlor; rooms in the south wing feature hardwood floors and beautiful views down Drury Lane. Turner is in the center of campus, closest to the fitness center, library and computer labs. Beds in Wallace and Turner can be stacked as bunks or lofts to create more space.

The university provides free local telephone service and free high-speed Internet service, with one network port per student in residence halls. Students supply telephones and computers. (More than 300 computers also are available in several labs on campus.) All rooms are cable-TV ready, but students must pay for cable service if they desire it. To arrange for cable TV service call Mediacom at (417) 875-5500, or look for their table on campus during Orientation. All residence halls are air-conditioned. Lounge areas have vending machines, microwaves and televisions. Each hall is staffed by a hall director and undergraduate resident assistants. The facilities are secured 24 hours a day.

After the first year, housing options include College Park, the Summit Park Leadership Community, Jefferson Park Apartments and off-campus housing options.

Your Housing Contract
To sign up for campus housing, go to http://forms.drury.edu and click on "Housing Contract." Print the form, fill it out and mail it back to Drury with the $200 housing and tuition deposit. If you prefer, call (800) 922-2274 and we will send you a copy.

Why do it now? Housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, and only for students whose contracts are received before the semester begins. Submitting a housing contract does not commit you to attend Drury University, and the deposit can be refunded until May 1.

To Your Health

Drury offers student health services during fall and spring semester through a partnership with Cox Health Systems. Full time students who have completed and returned their student health assessment forms are eligible for services. To complete your form, go to http://forms.drury.edu and click "Health Assessment Form." Like the housing contract, you should print this form, fill it out and mail it back, or you can call (800) 922-2274 and we will send you a blank form.

The Health Center is located in Findlay Student Center, room 107, and is staffed by a registered nurse from 8 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday while school is in session (not during school breaks or vacations). Services available include consultation, self care recommendations, health information and immunizations. If further medical assistance is required, Drury University's nurse will arrange an appointment with physicians and nurse practitioners at the Cox Family Medical Care Center, which is located three blocks from Drury.

Money Matters

Since 1999 Drury has ranked at or near the top of the US News & World Report list of Great Schools at Great Prices in the Midwest. The university has numerous scholarship and financial aid options available for qualified students. Please visit www.drury.edu/scholarships for information on scholarships.

Your individual financial aid award will be available online from a secure Drury site beginning in April, 2004. Go to http:/ myfa.drury.edu and sign on using your ID number and PIN.
