The College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS) offers masters, baccalaureate and associate degree programs primarily in the evening in Springfield and at sites in Southwest Missouri ( Ava, Cabool, and Thayer) and in the Mid-Missouri Region (Fort Leonard Wood, St. Robert Annex, Lebanon, and Rolla). The undergraduate programs hold the distinction of being the first adult evening college in southwestern Missouri.
The bachelor of science, the bachelor of general studies and the associate of science degrees offered by this college are designed to meet the needs of part-time students and those whose schedules do not permit them to attend traditional day programs. Additionally, we offer master’s degree programs in business administration, communication, criminology, criminal justice and education. Online courses are offered in undergraduate and graduate programs to enhance the educational experience of our students.
The Springfield campus is a blend of historic and contemporary buildings, housing classrooms and other facilities available to students. The Olin Library contains more than 175,000 print works, with access to millions more through a statewide network; a rare book collection and several classrooms. Library privileges and services are available to those at off-campus sites. The Findlay Student Center (FSC) is home to the Commons (cafeteria-style dining), the campus bookstore and the career center. Springfield Hall offers a quick copy service and postal services at Carbon Copy, food at the Campus Exchange (CX), and numerous technology labs with 24/7 assistance.
