Services Provided:
Drury University's Student Health Center is supervised by Cox Health Systems. Services provided at the Student Health Center by a registered nurse include consultation, self-care recommendations, health information and immunizations. Some over-the-counter medications are available for the students (without charge) for self-care of many common ailments.
If further medical assistance is required, physicians and nurse practitioners at the Family Medical Care Center are available by appointment arranged by the Drury nurse. This family practice residency program is a part of Cox Health Systems and is located a short distance from campus (3 blocks) in the Cox North Hospital Complex (1423 N. Jefferson). Weekend or after hour emergency care is available at Cox Medical Center North's Urgent Care or Emergency Room (3 blocks from Drury) or at another health care facility of the students choice.
Cost:
The costs of Student Health Center visits, as well as appointments made by the nurse to the Family Medical Care Center, are covered through the health fee each full-time student pays to the university. Diagnostic laboratory tests, X-rays, injections and other procedures are charged to the individual student or to their insurance carrier. If there is no insurance carrier, payment or payment arrangements need to be made at time of visit. Weekend or after hour emergency care is the financial responsibility of the student and the student's family. Students may purchase prescriptions at a reduced cost at the Convenient Care Pharmacy in the Medical Tower Building at 1443 N. Robberson or at a pharmacy of the students choosing.
