Michael Thomas was formerly Drury's director of admission, a position he had held since 1985. Prior to that, Michael worked at Southwest Baptist University in the admission office. He received his bachelor's degree from Southwest Missouri State University in 1975 and holds a master's degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is active in Leadership Springfield, American Cancer Society, Springfield Area Arts Council and First Night. He is also a deacon at University Heights Baptist Church. Professional organizations include the Missouri Association of College Admission Counselors, where he is a past president, national delegate to the National Association of College Admission Counselors and ACT state advisory board. Michael is also the recipient of the Peggy Clinton Award by the Missouri Association of College Admission Counselors.
