Speech Communication Center Resources

A list of resources that have been created by the Speech Comm. Center to help with organization, presentation, and evaluation of speeches.

Video Viewing Guide - evaluates strengths and weaknesses in the areas of content, delivery, and audience reaction as students watch their speech on videotape.

Video Viewing Guide: Storytelling - similar to the regular video viewing guide except this one is tailored to storytelling.

Guide for Citing Sources in your Speech – offers tips on how to correctly incorporate sources such as quotations, facts, and statistics into the wording of your speech.

Guide for Using Audio-Visual Aids- asks the presenter a series of questions about their use of audio-visual aids that will lead to an enhanced use of them.

Speech Apprehension Questionnaire-evaluates the degree of speech apprehension a person experiences so they can take steps to overcome it.

“What to Consider Before You Stand and Deliver”- outlines the important elements (beginning, middle, and end) of an effective speech.
