We’d love to share more about your professional success with our current and future students – please describe your career path to this point as well as your current profession:
I started at Prime as an Intern at the beginning of my senior year in 2000. I spent most of my internship doing quantitative analysis, developing custom reports for internal and external use, as well as special projects for several different departments. I was offered a position upon graduation, and expanded upon those responsibilities on a full time basis for a few more years. Over the last several years I have moved into a sales and pricing role where I maintain a current customer base and work to develop new business opportunities across all transportation modes.
How did your experiences in the Breech School of Business prepare you for your professional career?
A large part of being successful in business is how you develop and maintain partnerships not only with your customers and vendors, but fellow colleagues as well. The Breech School’s collaborative learning model and supportive faculty help create an environment where relationship development is a key component of the curriculum.
Were there any specific courses or areas of study that were especially useful to you?
I found all my course work beneficial, but the upper level economics and finance classes have been particularly useful.
Do you have any favorite memories inside the Breech building?
I enjoyed my time traveling and working on projects with the Enactus (formerly SIFE) program.
What advice would you offer to a new student beginning their course of study in the Breech School of Business?
Work hard, don’t skip class, and don’t be afraid to ask for help!
