Referees & Workers

Drury University Intramural Department will provide all referees for every intramural event. The referees and supervisor have the authority to make any decision, even those not stated in the rules, if they feel the safety of participants could be compromised. Team captains must be appointed by each participating team and should be the spokesperson for the entire team to communicate with the supervisor or official. All representatives of the team including participants, coaches, and spectators are subject to the guidelines set by the intramural department and the events officials.

Intramural Facilities

Harrison Stadium
Most intramural competitions will be held on Harrison Stadium on the campus of Drury University. This turf facility allows for multiple sports to be played year round. The field is lit so competitions can run past dark. In most cases multiple games will be held at one time because of the size of this complex.

Sunderland Field
Sunderland is a grass field that is located on campus as well. It will be used on rare occasions when Harrison is unavailable. Some extra events may take place off campus if the event deems necessary.

What to Expect

Campus Recreation at Drury University has a simple mission to provide students and faculty with healthy activities in fun-filled environments in both competitive and non-competitive settings. Safe physical activity is conducive to a student's personal development into a complete individual at Drury University.

The Campus Recreation office offers a variety of programs for students including club sports, open gyms, individual and team tournaments, and of course intramural sports leagues. The primary goal of the program is to work with other university wide organizations to offer an activity for every individual and by doing so enhance the overall campus life. Continue to check in as we are continually adding sports, tournaments and weekly activities for everyone; even some activities with parents! We encourage the entire Drury community to participate in our wide range of activities.

What to Wear

Any appropriate athletic attire is acceptable to wear for intramural competition. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times during the event. All necklaces, rings, watches, and other jewelry must be removed during an event. Pennies will be provided by the intramural department or teams can choose to wear their own jerseys but they all must match to the referee's discretion. Opposing teams must be in opposite colors (light vs. dark) so to not create confusion for the participants or the referees.

All participants must wear proper shoes to ensure the safety of themselves and other participants. In outdoor sports no metal cleats will be allowed. The referee or supervisor has the authority to disallow any footwear that they deem dangerous.

Any player in question of dangerous or illegal equipment will be removed from play until the problem is resolved without question. The referee has final say on any matter regarding equipment to ensure the safety of all participants.
