Drury's Military Tradition

Drury University has a long tradition of providing higher education to members of the military, veterans, and their families. As a vital part of the Springfield, MO community since our founding in 1873, Drury was also one of the first universities in Missouri to offer continuing education and evening classes to meet the needs of adult students.

Following World War II, Drury sent buses to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO to bring soldiers to Springfield to attend classes here. Drury's commitment to provide higher education to members of the armed forces and their families has grown beyond what anyone could have imagined 65 years ago.

Drury University is comprised of our traditional Day College, the College of Continuing Professional Studies (CCPS), and the Graduate College. Our Day College is at the main Springfield campus, providing students from throughout the United States and many international students with a well-recognized and respected liberal arts education. Our College of Continuing Professional Studies offers evening and online classes to adults seeking an associates or bachelors degree. These programs extend to nine branch campuses including Ft. Leonard Wood, St. Robert and Rolla, MO. Many of the degrees can be completed entirely online. Drury's Graduate College offers seven post-baccalaureate degree programs.

Whether you're interested in architecture, pre-medicine, business, education, behavioral sciences, leadership studies, or another from our wide-range of programs, veterans and military students are finding their niche at Drury. We also offer speciality training in such programs as the Law Enforcement Academy offered at the Springfield campus. This program provides professional training for those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. The 650-hour basic training academy is certified by the State of Missouri Department of Public Safety to provide training for the Class A license. VA Benefits and Tuition Assistance may be used for the Law Enforcement Academy. Following the academy, many students continue their education by completing one of our degree programs, which includes both the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science in either Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice.

Your service to our country is greatly appreciated, and we invite you to become part of the Drury Connection.
