OCSS Awards $525,000 for Clean Up Missouri and Breathe Easy Missouri Projects

Clean Diesel Projects of Southwest Missouri

Through a grant agreement with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources -- Air Pollution Control Division, OCSS awarded $525,650 in grant agreements with 8 school districts and 2 private businesses in southwest Missouri. These projects serve as part of the Clean Up Missouri Project and the Breathe Easy Missouri Project for the National Clean Diesel Grant Program. Project funding was authorized by the United States Congress under the Diesel Emission Reduction Act and is administered through Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant programs.

The following organizations have received funding under the Clean Up and Breathe Easy Projects to install emission control technology, idle reduction technology, and/or conduct early vehicle replacement. All entities will undergo a competitive bidding process, and will be taking bids for emission control and idle reduction technology at designated times between November 2011 and January 2012. Bids for early vehicle replacements will be initiated between November 2011 and March 2012. All emission control and idle reduction technologies must be either EPA or CARB certified and all new vehicles must meet the EPA's 2010 emission standards.
