The only thing that makes a night of bowling better is a night of cheap bowling at one of Springfield's favorite bowling alleys. Centrally located Battlefield Lanes offers college night on Wednesdays, where students can enjoy games for just $1.79 and free shoe rental! Plus, pool is half-price and you can stay refreshed with $1 small soft drinks.

Located in downtown Springfield, 1984 is a open-play video game arcade that features classic games from the 1980s. A $5 admission at the door is all that's required with unlimited play on all games except for pinball machines, which cost a quarter per play. Fun Acre Miniature Golf

This enjoyable miniature golf course is located in south Springfield and is the perfect place for inexpensive fun. For less than $3, enjoy a full miniature golf course with friends. A quarter-operated batting cage is also located at Fun Acre.

Nixa Aquatics Center

Located just south of Springfield in Nixa, the Nixa Aquatics Center is the perfect place to spend hot days cooling off and splashing around. More than just a swimming pool, the center features two large water slides, diving board, spray areas, tumble buckets, basketball goal and more.

The Palace

While the movies here have typically been out for awhile, you can still catch the films you wanted to see but missed out on with their first run. The Palace is located in Springfield enchanting Chesterfield Village, so you can grab dinner or go shopping after the show.

Located in southeast Springfield, Springfield 8 shows first run movies in a quiet location on the eastern edge of town.

Campbell 16

As Springfield's largest first-run movie theatre, Campbell 16 offers plenty of variety on major motion pictures. The theatre is located on the south side of town.

Hollywood Theatre 14

With its central location near Drury in downtown Springfield, Hollywood Theatre is a favorite first-run movie theatre for DU students.

Sunset Drive-In in Aurora

$6.50 person for two full feature films

If you don't mind a short road trip for a great deal, plan a visit out to the Sunset Drive-In movie theatre in Aurora, about 45 minutes from campus. The ticket cost is just $6.50 per person, but that price includes TWO films instead of one. Make a full evening of it and enjoy movies under the stars. You can bring in your own food and drinks (alcohol is not permitted), and can even set up a grill to cook on during the show. Cash only.

Artwalk

Free

The First Friday Artwalk - or simply Artwalk, as it's commonly known - is a favorite tradition in downtown Springfield. The event takes place the first Friday of every month, and features art, music and performances at 25 venues through the city's art district.

Springfield Little Theatre

Catch the latest in live theatre entertainment at the Springfield Little Theatre. When possible, $9 tickets are available to students 30 minutes prior to performance time. Must present 1 valid school I.D. per ticket purchase.

Springfield Conservation Nature Center

Looking for a natural adventure right in Drury's backyard? Conveniently located near the intersection of James River Freeway and Highway 65 in southeast Springfield, the nature center is home to 80 acres of forests, creeks, fields and hills on the banks of Lake Springfield. Nearly three miles of trails, including some paved, make getting out into the outdoors easy and fun. You're likely to come across deer, turtles, foxes, raccoons and other wildlife in this peaceful outdoor sanctuary.

Ozark Greenways

Explore the city (and beyond) on foot or by bike with the Ozark Greenways trails. From rugged rural trails like the 35-mile Frisco Highline Trail to the urban paths like the 8-mile Galloway Creek Greenway, you'll be able to enjoy fresh air and the sights of Springfield safely and comfortable. Other popular trails include the 8-mile South Creek Greenway, which runs through McDaniel Park and Nathanael Greene Park, and the South Dry Sac Greenway, which is located on the city's northeast side.

Japanese Stroll Garden

Relax and unwind as you get lost in the 7.5 acres of Springfield Japanese Stroll garden. This beautiful retreat on the west side of town features trees, flowers, water features and peaceful paths.
