Associate of Science in Emergency Medical Science Program

The College of Continuing Professional Studies offers an associate of science in emergency medical science. This is a degree completion program for students who already have certification in emergency medical science. Students enter the program with 30 hours applied towards an associate of science degree in emergency medical science and then they take an additional 32 hours at Drury to complete the associate of science degree. Credit also is awarded for military training in this specialty upon completion of national registry certification.

Emergency medical science is the study of basic emergency medical care. Employment opportunities include ambulance services, fire and rescue agencies, air medical services, specialty areas of hospitals, industry, educational institutions, and government agencies.

Associate of Science in Emergency Medical Science Curriculum

Students pursuing an associate of science degree in emergency medical science are required to have completed an approved emergency medical science program for which 30 semester hours credit for satisfactory completion will be awarded. Credit also is awarded for military training in this specialty upon completion of national registry certification. Requirements for the associate degree in emergency medical science are as follows:

ENGL 150: Composition (3 hours)

MATH 100: Intermediate Algebra (3 hours)
