Tuition Assistance (TA)
Tuition Assistance (TA) is funding that military students are authorized for college courses. This includes all branches for the military. Per semester hour cap is $250 and the fiscal year ceiling is $4,000 or 16 semester hours. The fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30. The military will pay 100% of the tuition charged by a college up to the established per semester hour cap and fiscal year ceiling.
Drury provides a Military Discount for online classes to students using Tuition Assistance. The discount reduces the online tuition rate to below the semester hour cap of $250.
Why am I getting a bill if I requested TA?
TA can be requested for courses eight weeks before the start date, but TA cannot be billed until the course you are enrolled in is 19% complete. Once you have completed 19% of the course, the invoice period to bill the government for the course is the 16th of each month. Payment can take up to 30 additional days. Students will receive monthly statements from the school until the balance on your account is paid in full. TA does not pay any out-of-pocket fees or cover the cost of books.
GoArmyEd is a virtual gateway where active duty Army and reservists can request Tuition Assistance (TA) for their classes.
To use GoArmyEd at Drury, you must: 1) register with Drury to be enrolled in the course, and 2) request TA to provide the necessary funding to pay for the course through GoArmyEd. These are two separate processes but both must be completed.
What if I am Air Force, Marine, or Navy?
All other branches of the military submit a paper TA form to their respective branch business office for billing. Please check with your branch office for information on current availability of TA.
