Drury University Security: Parking Regulations

Parking regulations are necessary for the safety and convenience of the campus community. All students, faculty and staff who choose to park on campus must register their vehicles with the security office.

Permits are issued at the security office in the Findlay Student Center Rm. 101 between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday (except holidays).

CED students only may register in the CED office at Bay Hall.

PARKING AREAS

Parking On City Streets—MID-Town Parking Permit

Students, faculty, staff and visitors may park on city streets immediately adjacent to Drury property where it is not posted for No Parking AND there is not a sign saying “Residential Permit Required". These streets include parts of Calhoun, Benton, Summit, Webster, Lynn, Robberson and Jefferson. Only students living in mid-town houses owned or leased by Drury are able to obtain the Mid-town parking permit if they wish to park on city streets signed “Residential Permit Required". Drury currently owns/leases the following mid-town houses on Robberson: 1215, 1217, 1225 and 1237 and Summit: 1200. A mid-town residential permit may be obtained by calling 864-1617. They are free. A maximum of three permits are issued per house. No other students are eligible to obtain the mid-town parking permit.

Numbered parking lots are for Non-Residential students, staff, faculty and visitors.

Lettered parking lots are for Residential students only.

Located: North of Hper/Weiser Gym and east of Turner Hall
Permit Type: Non-Residential permit and valid picture ID required for control arm entrance, special event parking (area restricted at times to allow for special events)

Permit Type: Non-Residential permit and valid picture ID required for control arm entrance

Located: East of Summit street and north of Harrison Stadium
Permit Type: Open to all permit and non-permit holders

Located: North from Central Street through the middle of campus. Parking is limited to 30 minutes only Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm. No time limit after 5 pm and on weekends.

Lot: Burnham Circle
Located: East of Burnham, north of Bay Hall and south of Olin Library. Parking is limited to 30 minutes only Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm. No time limit after 5 pm and on weekends.

Located: Located North of Parsonage
Permit Type: Special permits issued to Parsonage guests

Lot: Cox Health North
Located: Located North of E. Lynn St. and West of Benton Ave.
Permit Type: Valid Drury permit required. Parking only permitted in far East row along Benton Ave.

GENERAL PARKING REGULATIONS

1. All vehicles parked on campus except visitors, must be registered and display a parking permit. All permits are free . Permits must be displayed on the driver's side upper corner of the windshield. Permits must be visible at all times. Permits can be obtained at the Safety & Security Office in the Findlay Student Center or online at www.drury.edu/services/security/ol_parking_reg.cfm .

2. Residential students MUST register their vehicles by August 31 st each year.

3. No parking in handicap zones without an official Handicap Permit or license plate.

4. No parking in crosswalks, fire lanes, loading zones, on grass, sidewalks or in posted areas.

5. Residential students must park in designated residential Lots A, B, C, and D.

6. Non-Residential permit holders must park in Lots 1, 2, 3,4, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.

7. Visitors to campus should park on Drury Lane or Burnham Circle and check in with the Security Office. Visitor permits may be obtained in Admissions (Bay Hall) and the Security Office (Findlay Student Center). Time limits do not apply to visitors with a valid visitor permit.

8. Between 8pm and 8am and on the weekends and holidays, all parking is open with a permit excluding residential lots and control arm lots. Residential lots are open only to vehicles with permits for those areas between August 15 th and May 31 st .

9. Residential parking lots are open to any permit parking from June 1 st to August 14 th each year.

10. Burnham Circle and Drury Lane are limited to 30 minutes of parking, Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Parking is open 5 pm to 8 am and on weekends and Holidays with a valid permit.

11. Areas closed by Security and designated as such by cones or other types of barriers are to be considered no parking zones. Motorists are to follow the directions of Security officers and/or parking attendants when they are present and controlling traffic.

12. Parking is permitted between marked lines only.

13. Parsonage parking is located north of the Parsonage and by special permit obtained from Parsonage Manager.

14. Parking fines are as follows: $25 for Blocking crosswalk/ramp, Parked in driving lane, Failed to park in marked space, Parking in Non-residential lot without proper permit, Parking in Residential lot without proper permit, Parking on grass or sidewalk, Over the time limit, No parking zone, Unsafe driving, blocking loading dock/zone; $30 for Vehicle not register/no permit, Fire lane/hydrant; $50 for Handicap zone.

15. Appeals to parking tickets may be made in person at the Safety & Security office in Findlay Student Center or online at www.drury.edu/services/security/AppealForm.cfm . Only one appeal per semester is allowed. Appeal forms must be filled out completely in order to be considered. Results of appeals will be posted online at www.drury.edu/multinl/story.cfm?ID=3161&NLID=87 .
