Membership Officer

A positive membership experience is a priority of the Drury Greek Life Community. Each chapter understands the value of member participation, involvement and accountability in campus life and provides opportunities to help each member make the most of their Greek experience. Greek organizations are required to have a structured membership program. Each chapter should elect or appoint a chapter Membership & Recruitment Officer that manages and maintains the chapter's membership program. The chapter membership program should include:

  • Recruitment Plan to pledge new members into the chapter
  • Understanding of key selling points of the chapter for all chapter members to communicate to potential members
  • Maintaining an safe, comfortable environment for all recruitment and new member activities
  • Approving promotional items through IFC, Panhellenic Council and/or the Student Activities Office
  • Using only IFC, Panhellenic and Student Activities Office approved recruiting publications
  • Participating in all IFC, Panhellenic Council and Student Activities Office Recruitment Training sessions
  • Providing recognition and incentives for membership understanding & involvement

Greek Life Staff Collaboration
The Greek Life Staff partner with IFC and Panhellenic Council to facilitate regular meetings for the Recruitment Officer.  Planning meetings are held before Recruitment begins.  IFC and Panhellenic Council recommend that relevant chapter officers and advisors attend Recruitment meetings as directed by the Vice President of Recruitment for each council.
