SPRINGFIELD, Mo., June 21, 2010 – Drury University’s Ozarks Center for Sustainable Solutions (OCSS) has issued a request for proposals for clean diesel grant projects in southwest Missouri. Private and public on-road diesel owners may apply for funding to purchase and install Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) verified SmartWay Technology.
Funding for these projects is provided under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) through the EPA and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Missouri Clean Diesel Program. Eligible owners may request up to $24,999 to purchase and install SmartWay idle reduction, aerodynamic, and/or low-rolling resistance tire technologies on their vehicles. By utilizing these technologies, fleet owners can reduce the amount of fuel consumed; thus, saving money and reducing harmful diesel emissions.
Application documentation is due to the OCSS by Friday, July 2, 2010. Contact Amy Strickland at (417) 873-7054 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
