Drury Professor Honored by Springfield Area Sports Hall of Fame

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., June 17, 2009 — Drury Accounting Professor and local softball standout Penny Clayton will be inducted into the Springfield Area Sports Hall of Fame on Sept. 22, 2009.

The new class of Hall of Fame inductees was announced on Tuesday, June 16. Clayton attended Hillcrest High School and played amateur softball in the summers. She competed collegiately for Southwest Missouri State in the late 1970s where she won 40 games as a pitcher for the Bears.
