SPRINGFIELD, Mo., April 7, 2009 — Dr. Michael Cassity, Drury University professor and director of music therapy, has been elected for a second six-year term to the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Music Therapy.

The JMT, the premier journal of the American Music Therapy Association, is distributed internationally, and is listed in publications such as “Exceptional Child Education Resources,” “Psychological Abstracts” and the “Hospital Literature Index.”  Members of the Editorial Committee are nominated by the JMT Editor, elected by the Editorial Committee and approved by the AMTA Executive Board.  Each member of the JMT Editorial Committee is listed along with the name of their university on the inside front cover of each issue of the JMT.

Cassity is a 1998 recipient of the Harmony Award for significant contributions in research awarded by the Southwestern Regional Chapter of the AMTA.
